The standard we hold
All delegates are expected to uphold the highest standards of respect, professionalism, diplomacy, and integrity throughout the conference.
01Fourteen Standards

Respect and Decorum
- Maintain a respectful and professional atmosphere throughout the conference.
- Treat all delegates, chairs, organizers, guests, and staff with courtesy and respect.
- Personal attacks, harassment, intimidation, discrimination, or offensive behavior will not be tolerated.

Punctuality
- Arrive on time for all committee sessions, meetings, and scheduled activities.
- Delegates should follow the conference schedule and avoid unnecessary disruptions caused by late arrival.

Minimising Disruptions
- Avoid side conversations, unnecessary movement, or unrelated activities during formal sessions.
- Follow the instructions of the Chair and maintain appropriate conduct during debate.

Confidentiality
- Respect the confidentiality of discussions held during closed sessions.
- Do not disclose sensitive or restricted information outside the intended audience.

Constructive Feedback
- Raise feedback, concerns, or complaints through the appropriate channels.
- Criticism should remain respectful, constructive, and focused on improving the conference.

Appropriate Use of Technology
- Keep mobile devices on silent during formal sessions.
- Laptops and tablets should be used only for conference-related purposes during committee proceedings.

Inclusivity
- Help create an inclusive environment where all participants feel respected and welcome.
- Respect differences in opinions, backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives, and avoid discriminatory remarks or behavior.

Respectful Language
- Use professional, courteous, and appropriate language in all interactions.
- Avoid language that is offensive, discriminatory, threatening, or disrespectful.

Teamwork and Collaboration
- Cooperate with fellow delegates and work constructively within your delegation and committee.
- Collaborate during negotiations, drafting, and debate while respecting the positions of other delegates.

Research and Internet Use
- Delegates are expected to complete their necessary research before committee sessions.
- Internet use during committee should be limited to designated purposes permitted by the Chair.

Diplomatic Conduct
- Represent your assigned country accurately and consistently.
- Disagreements should focus on policies, arguments, and ideas rather than individuals.
- Do not deliberately misrepresent another delegate's position.

Academic Integrity
- Research and written work should be prepared honestly.
- Plagiarism, fabrication of information, or deliberate misinformation is not acceptable.

Conflict Resolution
- If a dispute arises, delegates should attempt to resolve it respectfully and through appropriate diplomatic channels.
- Concerns that cannot be resolved should be brought to the Chair, Secretariat, or organizing team.

Consequences of Misconduct
- Failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in a warning, loss of speaking or conference privileges, removal from a session, or further disciplinary action at the discretion of the Secretariat.

By participating in SIS MUN, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to follow this Code of Conduct and the instructions of the Secretariat and Chairs.
